Whether you are just starting out, returning to the piano after years away, or looking to take your playing to the next level, Shifflett Piano Studio offers personalized, curiosity-driven instruction designed to help you grow as a musician. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, interests, and experience, creating a supportive environment where students can build strong foundations and develop a lasting connection with music.

Students also learn in a unique teaching space equipped with a grand piano, harpsichord, and organ, offering opportunities to explore the wider world of keyboard music.

Students of all ages and experience levels are welcome. Lessons are offered at Saint James Armenian Church in Richmond, Virginia.

About Your Teacher
Devon Shifflett, M.M.
Pianist and Educator
Hello! I'm Devon Shifflett, a pianist, educator, and Virginia native based in Richmond, VA. As the founder and instructor of Shifflett Piano Studio, I bring over seventeen years of performance experience and eight years of teaching experience working with students of all ages and experience levels. In addition to maintaining a private studio, I serve as the Instructor of Piano at Hampden-Sydney College and Music Ministry Director at Saint James Armenian Church. I hold a Master of Music in Performance and Piano Pedagogy from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Longwood University.
I enjoy working with students of all ages and experience levels, from beginners to adults returning to the piano after many years away. My goal is to help students develop the skills, confidence, and musical understanding needed to enjoy music for a lifetime!
